CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

CONSTITUTION

Article I. Name
Section 1. The name of this club shall be the Woodland Hills Civic Association, Inc.
Article II. Purpose
Section 1.

The purpose of this organization shall be to beautify our community through active participation and fellowship.

Article III. Membership
Section 1. Membership in the club shall consist of residents of Woodland Hills. Members admitted from outside Woodland Hills must be approved by the Board of Directors.
Section 2. Members are encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible.
Article IV. Officers, their election and duties
Section 1. The officers of this club shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Section 2. All officers shall be installed at the annual June business meeting.
Section 3. Vacancies may be filled by the Board of Directors.
Section 4. President: Shall preside at all regular, called, and Board of Director's meetings; shall promote club business; and shall appoint all committees; shall have authority to sign checks for the withdrawal of funds.
Section 5. Vice President. Shall preside in the absence of the President; shall be in charge of the presentation of programs, and securing of meeting places for the year.
Section 6. Secretary: Shall keep an accurate record of all regular meetings called, and Board of Director's meetings; Shall release publicity of clubs activities.
Section 7. Treasurer: Shall keep an accurate record of all movies and collection of dues; shall have authority to sign checks for withdrawal of funds.
Article V. Board of Directors
Section 1. The Board of Directors shall consist of the officers and Committee Chairman.
Article VI. Meetings
Section 1. The regular meeting of this club shall be held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Section 2. In March, the President shall appoint a nominating committee of three (3) members, who shall present a slate of officers for vote in May. Other names may be presented from the floor.
Section 3. The Annual Business Meeting of this club shall be in June, when new officers are installed. At this time two (2) written copies of reports will be given Chairman of all standing committees. One copy will go to the President; the other copy must be included in the Secretary's minutes of the Annual Meeting.
Article VII. Amendments
Section 1. This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of members present after having been passed by the Board of Directors.
 

 

BY-LAWS

Article I. Duties of Standing Committees
Section 1.  Club Project Chairman:

Shall be in charge of the maintenance of the Woodland Hills Road Entrance, the Circle Garden, and the Westlawn Road entrances.
Section 2. Chaplin:

Shall be in charge of presenting a devotional at each meeting.
Section 3. Scrapbook:

Shall maintain a scrapbook of club activities.
Section 4. Ways and Means:

Shall be in charge of fund raising projects.
Section 5. Yard of the Month:

Shall be in charge of the monthly selection of the yard of the month in Woodland Hills.
Section 6. Yearbook:

Shall see to the publication of the yearbook.
Section 7. Social:

Shall plan any social functions of the club.
Article II. Club Project
Section 1. The perpetual maintenance and planting for the Woodland Hills Road entrances and the Circle Garden shall be the obligation of each member of the organization.
Section 2. The weeding and watering of the shrubbery beds at the Westlawn Road entrances to Woodland Hills shall be the obligation of each club member.
Article III. Dues (Donation to the Neighborhood)
Section 1. The annual dues of this club shall be $20.00 per family, payable no later than October 1.
Article IV. Remembrances
Section 1. A limit of $10.00 shall be spent on gifts for guest speakers.
Article V. Yard of the Month
Section 1. Entries for the yard of the month shall be open to all resident of Woodland Hills old and new sections and both sides of Bush River Road.
Section 2. A committee of (2) members shall be appointed by the President to select the winning yard.
Section 3.

A Yard of the Month sign shall be placed in the winning yard each month, with no yard eligible for the award more than once annually (September to September).
